Biography: Final Placement is a Christian Rock band from Midland Tx. It consists of four guys from Midland Christian School. They are currently playing shows. They dream of scoring a record label one day. The philosophy of FP is, "The world is gone but not lost it can still be saved, all it takes is the people to listen. Maybe if they will hear the message and change."

i swear, i've got some music lists coming. sooner or later. in lieu of posting one today i'm going to link you all to an old friend of mine. he's been writing and playing great songs since before i even figured out that learning a few chords on the guitar could attract girls. anyway, i'm not sure how often he updates this site but check it out. he's got some good covers on there and a couple of originals. we can always hope he puts more up in the near(ish) future.

Lou Reed Hates MP3s

Stares into soul, soul stares back

Lou Reed hates MP3s! What a hater! (Just joking.) Reed was gently interviewed a few days ago on CBC Radio's Q with Jian Chomeshi (whatever that is) and you can listen to the podcast online.

A few small quotes about cameras:

• "I really love looking through the viewfinder. Things look better through the camera."
• "It's like having a private screening in a movie theater."
• "Crisper, cleaner, move things around... It looks better through it."
• "I don't read and write anymore, and I can't read a camera manual."

I know what you mean about that private screening, Lou Reed. Personally, I can't move things around when I look at them. :(

Also Lou Reed, you are only 67 years old! Why can't you read? I am saddened. Maybe he just refuses to?

Pitchfork Talks About Tapes

Today Pitchfork's Marc Hogan put out a big three-page instruction manual on why you might want to check out cassettes. It's pretty awesome but I'm not sure how to feel about it. My emotions are torn in so many directions at once... Two directions maybe.

Mix #4: Hi-Fi Is Like Lo-Fi Too

Boil water, put tea in the teapot, put the water in the teapot. Sit on the chair, play this music. Wait three minutes, pour the tea. Wait ten minutes for the tea to cool down enough that it does not burn anything. Drink the tea. If there is no chair, sit on a carpet. I realize that some people do not like tea. For example, I do not like tea. I think it's for hippies. If this is the case, do something else while listening to the music.
